Eureka describes a celebration of discovery or invention.

Miwe’e an Odawa word meaning the best sounding of sounds. It is that sound that sounds better than the heavens. These two phrases best describe what you feel when being at camp.

Adventures wherever you go…..

You will never know what’s out there until you go for a walk. Allowing yourself to go on adventures, to explore and to reconnect to the land. Allowing yourself the freedom to play, to learn and to experience.

Every trail and path taken by the animals in the wilderness tells you more about the environment and how animal life is lived.

There will be presence of human contact here and there, but nature always has a way to reclaim the materials back into wilderness life over time.

The silence of the night brings forward the songs of many.

When was the last time you had loons sing you to sleep? When was the last time you heard wolves howl and call to one another? When was the last time you heard a moose grunt searching for a cow? When was the last time you heard an owl call to the others? When was the last time you heard pike jumping out of the waters or beavers slapping their tails before a dive into the water?

At Eureka Miwe’e Camp the night time is as exciting as the day time. The animals are all moving and calling to one another. At first the unidentified sounds of the night might be overwhelming, but after recognizing who they are & where they come from, the sounds bring on a soothing ambience.

Every kilometre that was traveled by vehicle, by quad, by boat or by foot has held memories of past times.

“Life on the land, no two days are ever the same. You’ll learn from past time teachings and experience something new every time. I look forward to the fall, it is the time we harvest for plants, medicines, and food. The wilderness, it keeps calls us back every few weeks, asking when are we coming to connect again, embracing feeling like our home away from home.”
– Cathie Jamieson

“ Out here I can feel how healing the land & waters are, I see what that does for my spirit, and my overall health“
